The footprints - 2013

With the ending of each year we positively look forward for new hopes and possibilities but somewhere forget to feel grateful for what we achieved in the passing year. Each year is not just an occasion for celebrating birthday and adding one year to life but also a bright opportunity to experience personal growth. 2013 is reaching its fag end and soon will slip into history. Before it slips, let's look back and see how far we have travelled in our journey of personal growth.

Let's use this fag end of the year 2013, take a quick look at your progress for a moment. It is an excellent way to understand where you succeeded and failed and what are the learnings for upcoming year 2014. Here is a quick checklist which may help you to think and map your progress.

  1. How many habits you have changed or adopted new?
  2. How many new experiences you gathered?
  3. Have you pursued some new hobby or interest?
  4. Have brought change to somebody's life?
  5. Have you travelled and seen new places?
  6. What are those experiences which have transformed you?
  7. Have you found the purpose of life, which can motivate you to work every moment?
  8. How far you have progressed in your career and where do you stand as per your present expectations and vision?
  9. Have you achieved this year's resolutions. If yes, then how do you feel about it and if no, what were the reasons which dragged you behind?
  10. Were you able to maintain your ideal weight and remained healthy throughout?
  11. How many new friends and connections you have made?
  12. Have you enriched your relationships with love and sensitivity or in case of single, have you found a love of your life?
  13. Have you achieved your financial goals?
  14. How many new books you have read?

There might be some more aspects of life which are not listed here, please add up and map that as well. I suggest you to maintain a log of your progress and compare it next year, which I personally do.

Do not leave even a single achievement unaccounted, however small it might be, because each one adds up to your self-confidence. Give a pat on your back for whatever you have achieved so far. Remember, all journeys are covered by completing each mile and so is true for your journey of personal growth.

My Progress

Once again, this year has been a glorious year for me and I have experienced personal growth reaching to new levels. It has been especially significant for my spiritual growth. Throughout the year I lived with abundance mindset and hence lived fearlessly without any reservations or insecurity. Have changed some of my limiting mindsets and opened up myself to new experiences.

The best thing happened this year is my initiation with Isha foundations, later on followed by completing my formal courses in Yoga. Though I had been practicing Yoga off and on but this time, it has become an integral part of my life and I am completely merged into it. It might sound weird, but I am able to enjoy it more because of my transformed mindsets. For a common person, Yoga is just a way of physical posture (esp. to lose weight) but for me it has always been something very divine. Now, practicing it every day, I can actually feel its divinity.

On health, remained free from common cold, viral fever etc. or any age related illness and maintained ideal weight throughout the year. Experienced some pain in knees and elbow due to weakening of ligaments. A big thanks to Yoga to help me in recovering from it. The has been possible only due to the fact that I practice breathing exercises and asanas (posture) everyday without a fail. This is one activity which test my self-discipline every day.

On business and financials, Abundance Thinkers website is getting popular and getting rave reviews from people of different races and countries. This is in itself a very satisfying experience and I simply relish it. Ofcourse, it would not have been possible without your support and regular readership which kept me enthusiastic. On finance, made a good progress but there are certain goals which I could not achieve. There is a good scope of progress here and next year this area would be more in focus.

On social interactions, have made some new good friends and connections that have helped me to explore new opportunities in my business.

On relationships, have enjoyed the goodness of relationships in family and I am absolutely happy about it. On love and life partnership, haven't yet come across my soulmate. Thought it wasn't or isn't on agenda or as a goal but would be good if there is somebody who can be inspiring to be with. As you know, for me, marriage is not to seek any company to spend time with or any old age insurance but to feel inspired and grow as two individuals who are truly mutually respecting and sensitive. It might sound crazy but since I believe in my personal values so this carries lot of importance for me.

As I am a happy, contented and eternally optimistic person, so from that point of view, overall, it has been a fantastic year for me, with gradual progress that is subtle but absolutely enriching and transforming. The level of personal happiness, freedom and contentment that I enjoy today is enough for me to know that I am driving in the right direction of living my purpose of achieving and living the best of potential.
